Features & Benefits
US DataVault Backup Pro will install on any Windows 2000/2003/XP Server. Through one server, you can backup any server on your network. Here is a list of features we offer:

Byte level backup
Byte level backup will enable you to actually backup changes within a file. For example, currently, if you backup a 1MB word document, and change one sentence, the software will backup the entire 1MB file. With byte level, it will actually backup the sentence, which could be only 10K, saving bandwidth and space on our server. This will be especially useful to our customers who backup large databases. For example, if you had a QuickBooks database of 1GB, every time you changed it, previously, it would have to backup that entire 1GB. Now, it will only backup the changes of that database, which could only be a few MBs. This process will work with ANY files or databases, including SQL server.
File search
Allows you to type in the name of the file and see every versions backed up, and allow you to restore any of them.
Common File Elimination - CFE
If you backup many computers, and the same document is on all computers, the software will only backup the file to our server ONCE, but remember all the computers the file was on for accurate restore.
Instant Restore
Previously, if you wanted to restore one or two files, our software still had to go through the entire backup before restoring the few files you chose. Depending on your backup size, this could have taken hours. Now, once you choose the files to restore, it will restore them as quickly as it takes to download those specific files only, without having to search the entire backup.
Full Featured Web Interface
Allowing you to see all the files that were backed up, when they were backed up, and even restore specific files using any web browser.

Continued Backup If Disconnected
If your internet connection drops during a backup, the software will try to reconnect until your internet connection is re-established, and will continue from the time it stopped. You can also pause the backup at anytime and restart it if you wish at a later time, as long as you don't cancel the process.
Single File Restore
You do not have to do a full restore to retrieve one specific file back to it’s original location or a new folder, if you wish.
Encryption
US DataVault Backup Pro provides a built-in security option to protect the privacy of sensitive data. Using AES, you can encrypt your data to 256-bit before it leaves your server! This option gives users powerful data security at no extra charge. This also means that even our server administrators have no access to your data.
Version Documents Options
Allowing you to set how many different revisions of a specific file or document you want to keep - i.e. Set to always keep the last 5 versions of every documents backed up. This will save you a lot of time and space, so you don't have to worry about saving too many files that you may not need to keep, or having to remember when you need to delete old backups.
System State Restore
You can also do system state backup and restore for your Windows XP or 2003 computers. (Windows 98, ME, or 2000 not available. Not yet available on Windows Vista).
Local Initial Backup to ship to us option available (extra fee applies)
If you have a large backup, but not a lot of bandwidth, your initial backup could take days, sometimes weeks. Consider that if you have a full T1 (1.54Mbps) for your internet connection, it will take you a month to transfer 300GB. If you have cable or DSL, though your download speed can vary from 256Kbps to 9Mbps, but your upload speed will only be 128Kbps to 768Kbps at best depending on your internet service provider. Upload speed is what you need to do your backups, therefore, at best, you will have half of a T1 speed, which means it could take a month to upload 100GB.
To resolve that issue, you can upload your initial backup to an external USB Drive. External Drives can be purchased at your local Best Buy or other computer store with up to 1.6 TB of space. If you need even more space, you can also order a NAS or SAN box.
Once the backup is done, ship us the drive, and we will upload it to our servers for you.
If you then run a backup to us before we have received and uploaded your initial backup, your backup will act as if your initial backup has already been uploaded, and therefore, will only upload the changes that were made since your initial backup. Though it will act as if all your files are there, they will not be available to restore until we upload your initial backup to our server, which usually takes anywhere between 2 to 5 business days from the time we receive it.
Fees for this service are billed at $100 per hour for tech time. This is a one time fee which includes the return of your drives.

Locked File Manager Agent Available
We have an agent that will allow you to backup exclusively locked files which cannot normally be backed up while open.

Simple interface
The interface is so simple, you can have your local backup running in a matter of minutes.
No Agents installed on remote servers.
Using Samba, already installed on most Linux/Unix Os's or CIFS, you can backup all your servers without needing to install any separate agents or software on your remote servers.
Ability to backup locally
Our software also allows you backup locally to another server, external or internal Hard Drives, CD/DVD, or tape if you wish (though we do NOT recommend backing up to tape, as it is VERY unreliable).

Small businesses (less than 1TB, with less than 5 Gigs of Additional data/month)
You can install the software on one of your Windows servers or desktop, then run the backups from that server, connecting to all the other servers on your network, or install the software on each server you want to back up. Schedule the backups, and let it run. Backups can be done every hour, or once a day at whatever time of day you choose.

Medium to Enterprise businesses (more than 1TB, with more than 5 Gigs of additional data/month or customers with low speed internet access)
For larger businesses, you may not have enough bandwidth to take care of the initial backup. For example, if you have a full T1 of internet access, it will take you over 450 hours to transfer 300 GB's. If this is the case, you can purchase an external Hard Drive (USB) or SAN server (depending on how much data you need backed up) so that you can do your initial backup on your network. Once finished, you need only ship the Hard Drive or server to us, and we will transfer the data to our servers then return the drive or server to you. This will allow you to then only need incremental or differential backups, saving you on time and bandwidth requirements (nominal setup fees will apply).

Connect using your internet connection, Frame Relay, Private Line, or Fiber
Most businesses will backup their data using their current internet connection. For the most demanding customers with the highest connectivity speed, you can connect back to our facilities via Frame, Private Line, or Fiber. We can help you secure the best pricing for these types of connections. Just let us know what you need, and we will find it for you at the best price available.

If you need your data put back on a computer, we will make sure to walk you through the software install, or come to your location to install the new server. This could not be easier and trouble free.

Redundant Locations
In addition to our Las Vegas Location (which is done automatically, at no extra cost to you), we can also mirror the data backed up at our Atlanta facility to another server located at any of the 14 other data centers we have access to throughout the country for an additional fee.
